With summer on its way, I thought I'd share a beach inspired post. The beach has such a distinct style, which I find somewhat funny since it's a place where I'm in quite a minimal amount of clothing. Do you have a favorite beach look - either here or your own?

You Make Me Feel Like Dancing

I've found that over the years and throughout the changing trends, dance inspired style has always found a way into my wardrobe. The colors and beautiful lines (whether soft or sharp) create wonderful and thought-provoking images. Here are a few looks I've seen that re-ignite my childhood dream of being a ballerina.

The one thing I've noticed about all these girls is that they all seem to have a certain edge here - but not just any edge, an effortless and care-free edge. I find it interesting that such a large part of fashion is putting a look together in a way that appears "just thrown on."

. . . I'm Just a Summer Girl

I've always thought that I can dress for any occasion and do an adequate job of fitting in (who wants to fully fit in when they could stand out?). After two years of school in Dallas, I have had multiple people point out to me that I wear a lot of black. Coming from Chicago, in the winter time I generally do wear a ton of black. It seems as though this has translated into a lot of my other clothes, with black bags, shoes, jackets, jeans, leggings, tops, dresses, etc falling into other seasons. My goal for this post was to find the best summer dresses, none of which can be black. I think I encompassed a wide range of occasions, from a night out to daytime to the beach, in a variety of bright colors. Next step: find a way to get them all!
